Truck LS swap kits simplify installing a GM LS-series engine into classic GM truck platforms that were originally equipped with an outdated V6, Small Block or Big Block V8 engine. Whether the goal is improved reliability and modern performance, or increased horsepower, properly engineered swap components are critical for achieving correct engine positioning, driveline alignment, and long-term installation durability.
Trans-Dapt Engine Swap-In-A-Box™ Kits for trucks combine key installation components into complete systems designed to work together. Depending on the application, these kits include swap headers, engine mounts, oil pan, gaskets and mounting hardware and are engineered specifically for classic GM truck platforms.
These complete systems remove much of the guesswork from LS engine conversions by packaging the core mechanical installation components under a single part number. Builders can avoid many of the compatibility issues that occur when sourcing swap components individually.
Trans-Dapt truck LS swap kits are developed for the most popular GM truck platforms including 1967-1987 C10/C15 C20/C25 (1/2 and 3/4 ton) Trucks and Suburbans, 1982-04 S10 Blazer/S15 Jimmy. Use the filter tools below to narrow down the selection to exactly what you need.
Complete Swap Systems: Truck LS swap kits combine key components engineered to work together, helping simplify installation and reduce compatibility problems during the engine conversion process.
Designed Specifically for Popular Chevy and GMC Truck Platforms: Developed for classic GM truck platforms including 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickups, Suburbans, and the timeless S10 family of trucks
Header Finish and Material Options: Each kit is available with optional header finishes. Kits include either a set of uncoated headers, or headers coated with our high temperature ceramic-metallic finish to provide corrosion resistance and help reduce underhood temperatures. Some of our fastest selling models also offer a choice of mild steel or T304 stainless steel construction.
Application-Specific Components: Headers, engine mounts and transmission crossmembers are engineered for the vehicle chassis and engine configuration they are designed to support.
Reduces Component Guesswork: Packaging core swap components together under one part number helps builders avoid compatibility issues that can arise when sourcing parts from multiple manufacturers.
Backed By Over 70 Years of Manufacturing Experience: Engine Swap-In-A-Box Kits are sold under the Trans-Dapt Performance Products brand (founded 1959) and they include quality components manufactured by sister brands Hedman Hedders and Hamburger's Performance Products. These swap systems benefit from decades of experience developing performance exhaust and engine swap products for the automotive performance aftermarket.
Truck LS swap kits are commonly used in classic GM truck platforms including C10 and C20 pickups, Suburbans, and S10/S15 trucks that were originally equipped with earlier V6, Small Block or Big Block engines.
Most Trans-Dapt truck LS Swap-In-A-Box™ kits include application-specific swap headers, engine mounts, oil pan, gaskets and mounting hardware. Some kits also include a transmission crossmember designed for the transmission being installed. They are designed to physically mount the LS engine in the vehicle chassis.
Truck LS swap kits address the primary mechanical fitment components required to mount the engine in the chassis. Additional modifications such as wiring, fuel systems, cooling systems and drivetrain components will be required, and will depend on the specific vehicle project being performed.
The components in these kits carry the same warranty coverage as individual Hedman Hedders, Trans-Dapt Performance Products and Hamburger's Performance Products components. Header construction and workmanship has a limited lifetime warranty, and factory-applied header coatings are covered for five years. All other components in these kits come with a one year warranty against manufacturing defects.
