Available configurations support small block and big block applications as well as engine swap projects. What is the difference between mid-length and long tube headers?

Mid-length headers provide a balance of improved performance and ground clearance, making them a strong choice for street-driven trucks. The collectors on mid-length headers typically dump out around the bellhousing. Long tube headers are designed for maximum exhaust scavenging and horsepower, especially at higher RPM, but may require additional clearance considerations. Long tube headers typically connect to the exhaust system under the floor of the vehicle.

Does Hedman make any C10 headers for LS engine swaps?

Absolutely. Hedman manufactures headers specifically designed for LS engine swap applications in C10/15, C20/C25, C1500, and C2500 Chevy / GMC trucks and Suburbans. Be sure to confirm engine and transmission type, chassis configuration, and mounting position to ensure proper fitment.

Are ceramic-coated headers worth it?

Ceramic coatings help reduce underhood temperatures, improve corrosion resistance, and extend the life of the headers. The coating is especially beneficial for performance applications and vehicles exposed to harsh conditions, while also providing a more finished appearance.

Do I need to consider transmission or steering clearance?

Yes. Header fitment can vary based on transmission type, steering configuration, and chassis setup. Use the available filters to narrow results and confirm compatibility with your specific truck's configuration.

Are all headers compatible with aftermarket cylinder heads?

Unless noted in the product details, headers are designed for use with stock cylinder heads. Cylinder head manufacturers may change plug angles, exhaust port position or shape, and deck height to improve performance. Heads that differ from a factory-configured cylinder head can alter the geometry and create fit issues and/or spark plug clearance concerns. Always verify header compatibility with the cylinder head manufacturer before purchasing headers for use on aftermarket or non-factory heads for the vehicle.

Important Fitment Note: Unless otherwise stated, Hedman Hedders are designed for use with stock cylinder heads. The use of aftermarket or non-original cylinder heads may result in clearance issues. Always verify compatibility with your cylinder head manufacturer or contact Hedman technical support prior to installation.
